We Bet You'll Be In Tears After Seeing This Ad

We are suckers for emotional stuff. Let's face it. Every time there is something which pulls at our heart strings, we love to give in and simply cry our eyes out. There is something cathartic and peaceful about that isn't it? It's like, washing away our sins.

HP India does not disappoint with this beautifully crafted ad. It drives home an extremely important point of buying local, something which we love to forget the moment we see big brands and malls decked up with innumerable lights and flashy signs.

The ad charts out how a small kid spots a local vendor (Amma) selling diyas or Diwali lamps. The kid is enamoured by her and even though his mom does not allow him to buy from Amma the first time around, he goes back and buys a handful. While leaving, he wishes her Happy Diwali, but Amma replies, unless her entire stock of diyas is sold completely, Diwali won't be happy for her.

We love how HP has integrated their offerings of a laptop and a printer into this setting. The small kid creates and prints posters urging people to buy diyas from Amma. Soon we see people gathering at her roadside shop and the diyas getting sold like hot cakes. Finally when the stock has been exhausted, the little kid appears on a cycle, smiling and saying "I told you all of these would be bought."

Till that point of time, Amma had no idea that the little kid was behind all of this. She gets an inkling and starts running after the kid and comes across a poster on the street - the very same one which he had prepared. She understands how he has helped her and thanks her stars. This particular scene is extremely poignant and HP has done a fabulous job evoking the right emotions. The video ends by saying #golocal and "Tu Jashan Ban Kisi Ki Zindagi Ka"

The video has already garnered 2.8 million views and there are super emotional comments like "This has made me cry every time I have watched it". Another user writes "Diwali is really a special time. Thanks HP for creating this beautiful video".

Whatever be your reaction, you can't deny that this is a wonderful ad. From all of us here at Pyper, Happy Diwali! Have a super time!
